Entering the world of finance as a woman of colour has been both an empowering and challenging journey. Often perceived as male-dominated and lacking diversity, the finance sector can feel intimidating to those who don’t see themselves represented. My experience has taught me that determination, resilience, and authenticity can pave the way for success.

When I started my career, I quickly realised that diversity in financial services was limited—not only in terms of gender but also ethnicity. Representation matters, and seeing women of colour in leadership positions remains rare. This reality has driven my passion for breaking barriers and inspiring others to pursue careers in finance, no matter their background.

Facing Challenges Head-On: Like many professionals from underrepresented groups, I faced biases and stereotypes that tested my confidence.

We had an amazing time at the Mortgage Strategy Awards last night! A big thank you to LANDBAY for the kind invitation and to Rob Stanton for being such a fantastic host!

While there were plenty of familiar faces I didn’t get the chance to catch up with, it was wonderful to reconnect with those I did see and to meet some great new people along the way.

No win for us this time, but we’re proud to have received a Highly Commended recognition in the Mortgage Broker category—definitely something to celebrate! 🎉

I had the pleasure of attending my company’s annual mortgage conference yesterday, and what an incredible event it was! The Connect Mortgages Conference delivered an inspiring day with insightful presentations from industry leaders, including Liz Syms, Katie King, MBA, and Alfie Best. Their expertise and vision truly set the tone for an exciting year ahead.

I’m also thrilled to share that I received the Platinum Achievers Award for the second consecutive year! 🎉 It’s an honour to be recognised for my hard work and dedication, and it’s a testament to the amazing support and resources provided by Connect.

It was an absolute pleasure to connect with so many lenders, fellow brokers, and industry professionals under one roof. The event was not only a celebration of 25 years of excellence but also an inspiring showcase of innovation, growth, and collaboration within our industry.

I’m truly honored and grateful to have been recognized with a Platinum Achievers Award—a moment that made an already fantastic day even more memorable!
